I Love Coffee
60 Second Interview by Mark Bixter
Today I had the pleasure of meeting Sandro and Stefano, 2 brothers who run I Love Coffee on Streatham High Road. They are a great double act serving up perfect coffee with a smile and here is what they had to say for themselves in our 60 second interview:
What is special about “I Love Coffee” and why should people come here?
Sandro: It is unique because it is run by 2 brothers, we want it to be a welcoming environment open to all – there’s no target audience, we just want everyone to come in. Everything we do is fresh, we bake the croissants and the pastries on site each morning. Also all our coffee is roasted and blended on site.
How long has “I Love Coffee” been open?
Sandro: It has been open 7 months now and me and Stefano opened it together.
When you cook at home, what is your signature dish?
Sandro: I don’t tend to do the cooking – this one is for Stefano.
Stefano: I’d have to say a rack of lamb with roast potatoes.
If you were a coffee, what kind would you be and why?
Sandro answered for Stefano and said:
Stefano would be a cappuccino because he’s light and fluffy.
Stefano answered for Sandro and said:
Sandro wouldn’t be a coffee at all. He’d be a hot chocolate because he’s the sweetest brother.
If someone had never visited Streatham before, where would you tell them to go on a night out?
Sandro: I’d have to say Nineteen Bar. They do great cocktails it’s right on the High Road and looks really inviting.
Apart from “I Love Coffee” what is your foodie recommendation in Streatham and why?
Sandro: La Casita, the owners are great, they really care about their business and their customers and the quality of the meat is excellent.
What is your guilty pleasure food?
Sandro: Waffles with nutella and bananas – all day – loads of them!
Stefano: For me, just food, as much as I can get. If I had to pick one thing though it’d be a galaxy hazelnut.
What would your last meal be?
Stefano: Definitely fillet steak with chunky chips.
Sandro: I think I’d have to say the same – but I’d also have a pasta dish on the side.
