Summer Harvesting Workshop

Sunday 18th August, 10.30am-12pm
Streatham Common Community Garden, The Rookery

Families are invited to the Community Garden for a Harvesting Workshop. Discover what’s ready in the garden at the peak of Summer and how long it’s taken to grow, learn how to recognise when a crop is ready, and have a go at harvesting yourself. We’ll also take you on an edible tour of the garden so you can try some freshly-picked herbs and leaves.

Following the workshop, Les Wright, new head chef at The Manor Arms, will be creating a seasonal dish using the freshly-harvested produce in the demonstration tent on Streatham Green from 3-4pm, so come along to taste the harvest and get some culinary ideas to try at home.

Venue: Streatham Common Community Garden, The Rookery, top of Streatham Common South
Entry: FREE.
Booking: workshop places are limited so booking is essential – please contact Charlotte Dove (streathamcommunitygarden@gmail.com / 07931501422) to reserve your place.
