2015 Festival Welcome

Welcome to Streatham Food Festival 2015 – a five-day celebration of our area’s vibrant food scene. Over the course of the festival we’ll be showcasing the best of our local food businesses and community groups, and bringing people together through a shared love of food.

This year’s programme includes the return of the Streatham Food Tour, with taster menus available in 31 local restaurants. Now in its third year, the tour is a brilliant way to try lots of local eateries without breaking the bank – so grab a scorecard and a group of friends, and take a food tour of the world, right here in Streatham!

Another popular fixture on the festival calendar, our Sunday Food Fair will once again transform Streatham Green into a buzzing community space, offering a mix of hot and cold food stalls, live music, face painting and cooking demos. The atmosphere has been fantastic over the past couple of years, with people from all over Streatham and beyond coming together to enjoy a day of food, community and fun.

New for this year is our children’s recipe competition. Pupils from nine local schools have been creating recipes that celebrate the rich cultural mix in our community and we’ll be hosting the final at our Sunday Food Fair. We can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with!

In recognition of Lambeth’s status as a Flagship Food Borough, we’re particularly excited to be welcoming Rosie Boycott, chair of the London Food Board, to Hitherfield Primary School on the first day of the festival. We think everyone should have access to healthy and sustainable food and we’re thrilled to be part of making this happen in Streatham.

There’s plenty more on offer this year with pop-up restaurants, food growing sessions, a Big Lunch, BBQs, fundraisers, a film screening and more. It’s all listed on our website and in our brochure here so have a read and start planning your festival.

Pauline Milligan websiteAs always, we want to say thank you to our sponsors, partners, staff and volunteers, without whom the festival wouldn’t be possible. We’re all really proud of this year’s programme and hope to see lots of you there!

With Streatham fast becoming the culinary capital of South London, Streatham Food Festival is the perfect way to celebrate our fantastic food entrepreneurs who work tirelessly to offer us locals a world of flavours right on our doorstep. Great new places to eat and drink are constantly popping up, proving what a great place to do business it really is. And that’s why inStreatham BID is proud to be sponsoring the Streatham Food Festival again this year!
